HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Harris County deputies are searching for surveillance video after a woman was shot and killed in her apartment complex around midnight on Saturday.
According to police, Dominic Jefferson was shot by her fiancé, Kendrick Akins, on Holly View Drive in northwest Harris County.
Witnesses say they saw Akins allegedly shoot Jefferson in the parking lot after an argument.

A suspect is in custody following a stabbing that left one person dead and at least three others injured Friday morning in southern Austin, officials say.
There are no other known suspects, police said.
Austin-Travis County Emergency Management Services tweeted that one person is dead and a second person was hospitalized. Two other people who were injured were at the scene.
Austin police tweeted that it happened in the 500 block of Congress Avenue. Citizens should avoid the area.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The so-called ‘Affluenza Teen,’ Ethan Couch, is back in jail more than a year after he was released for violating his probation after testing positive for THC, according to court records.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said he was arrested Thursday afternoon and booked into jail. He’s being held without bond per a judge’s order.
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man was beaten and robbed after returning home from the store on Christmas Eve. The attack was captured on surveillance video around 8 p.m.
The victim was walking into his apartment complex when three men attacked. He was kicked and punched repeatedly.
The victim said the men were demanding a phone, so he gave them his own phone.
Detectives say, what the victim didn’t know at the time, was that the suspects had lost one of their phones and they tracked it. It led them to a southwest Houston apartment complex and the victim just happened to be walking by at the wrong time.
All three were arrested and charged with robbery, including 23-year-old Faisal Abuamarah, 19-year-old Abdulazzez Abdulkhaliq, and 20-year-old Samuel Ibeson. All three had previous criminal records.
A 61-year-old woman celebrating the new year with her family is dead after she was shot by celebratory gunfire, deputies say.
Authorities told ABC13 the woman, identified as Philippa Ashford, was standing at the end of the driveway while family and friends in the cul-de-sac were shooting off fireworks, when she suddenly clutched her body and said, “I think I’ve been shot.”
She collapsed to the ground and died.
Ashford worked for The Menninger Clinic for more than 15 years, the center confirmed. She was the nurse manager for the acute stabilization unit, which is in the crisis psychiatric branch.
CARTHAGE, Texas — A man who fled after fatally shooting a sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop in East Texas early Tuesday was later arrested in Louisiana and charged with capital murder, authorities said.
An official with the Panola County sheriff’s office said Deputy Chris Dickerson died after being shot numerous times. Chief Deputy John Depresca said the 28-year-old Dickerson had been with the sheriff’s department for eight years.
Gregory Newson, 47, of Shreveport, Louisiana, was arrested about an hour later following a high-speed police chase, Depresca said.
