COMMACK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Some teenage bicyclists in Long Island say they were almost run over by a truck and have the video to prove it, but police say they were reckless on the road, putting their own lives and others in danger.
The incident happened Thursday in Commack.
Cell phone video shows a group of teens on bikes surround a pickup truck. You can see two bikes lying on the road as the driver and some teens are involved in a confrontation.
Suddenly, the truck pulls away and drives over a bike as one of the teens kicks the back of the vehicle.

WASHINGTON — Three teenage cousins claim a group of about 20 kids jumped them as they were coming out of the Shaw Library Monday night.
The youngest, 14-year-old Zhariah Jones, said she was targeted by a girl who has been bullying her for years.
“They were surrounding me, and they told me to fight her, and I told them I didn’t want to fight, so the girl swung first, and we got into a fight,” said the 14-year-old. “They started banging my head into the curb… They was kicking me in my back . They was kicking me in my head. …when they was jumping me, my cousin jumped in to help me.”
Jones, Irvy, and Irvy’s sister, 18-year-old Na’asia Hawkins all suffered concussions from the incident. Jones came away with a swollen face. Irvy’s neck and fingers were also fractured.
Quinn Beadle, 17, spiralled into depression and hanged herself from a tree at the end of her street in Durham after it was alleged she was groomed by a 50-year-old man.
The parents described it as ‘just another day’, with the teenager baking and watching TV with her mother before ordering the takeaway.
But Quinn has been battling depression after it was alleged a man in his 50s groomed her over a three-month period in December 2016.
Her mother Tracey, 39, told the Mirror Online: ‘Quinn was our beautiful 17-year-old daughter, she was kind, funny, stubborn, quirky, crazy and amazing.
‘Sadly one day, she decided that life was just too hard for her. We saw a change in Quinn after this [grooming allegations]. She just went very secretive.

Kam McLeod, 19, and Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, were last seen near the remote northern community of Gillam, Manitoba.

Mr Schmegelsky and Mr McLeod have been charged with the second-degree murder of 64-year old Leonard Dyck.
His body was found burned near the pair’s burnt-out camping van in northern British Columbia last Friday. They are also suspected of killing Australian-American couple Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese, who exploring the area too.

“Now Mueller is supposed to be this smart lawyer, but he doesn’t seem to understand the fundamental part of our judicial system,” Paul said. “So he writes in his report, ‘Well, I can not exonerate him, I can’t tell you that he’s innocent.’”

Chicago police are investigating an attack on a teenage girl struck by a group of people as onlookers laughed.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi (goo-lee-EHL’-mee) tweeted Tuesday that the video “is beyond disturbing to watch and this young girl deserves far better.” He says the video has been forwarded to the department’s Special Victims Unit and a criminal investigation is under way.
