The mom, wife, attorney and prostitute hopes that by shining a light on her lifestyle, she can help decriminalize prostitution.
“I like sex,” Sears said. “Sex is fun and I can get paid for it.”
She began working as a prostitute three years ago, at the age of 27. Sears travels to Nevada, where prostitution is legal, and works in a brothel.
“You can make a job out of this? That’s fantastic,” Sears said. “Why would I not do this?”
By speaking about her experience, Sears hopes to educate people on a taboo topic.
… “If a prostitute sees somebody who is being trafficked, she is less likely to go to the police and report this because she is incriminating herself, too,” she said. “If she is not doing anything illegal and she’s just doing her job and her friend over here is having an issue, she is now in a position where she can get her help out of that situation.”
A woman interrupted a live television interview and gave a heartwrenching speech which laid bare the impact of Brexit on EU citizens living in the UK.
The Portuguese woman fought back tears as she said she had ‘given up her youth’ to the UK during a protest against prorogation in London on Wednesday.
She revealed she had ‘looked after children and the elderly’ in the UK for some 20 years but had ‘no voice’ and faced being deported after October 31.
The woman has since been named as Ana Rocha, who was born in Lisbon and is a healthcare worker specialising in looking after people with disabilities.
She has now revealed she has moved to work and live in Scotland for ‘fear of reprisals.’
STANLY COUNTY, N.C. – A Stanly County mother caught on camera holding an assault rifle at her son’s school bus stop said she meant no harm.
She said her 11-year-old son, who attends North Stanly Middle School, texted her saying he was being bullied by a classmate on the bus.
Before the bus arrived, the woman said she saw dangerous animals coming out of the woods near her home, so she grabbed her gun.
“If they were here they would have seen coyotes on my property,” she said. “I was scaring coyotes off. When I was coming back up to my house is when the bus pulled up.”
When the bus driver called her over to talk about what happened on the bus, she said she still had the rifle in her hand and someone recorded her.
During a Q&A at the College of Charleston Bully Pulpit series, a member of the audience said “I saw, in March, on Twitter, a video, you were at a town hall just like this in Cleveland, and someone asked you specifically, specifically about third trimester abortions, and you said that it’s the decision left up to the mother.”
“So, my question is this. I was born September 8th, 1989, and I want to know if you think on September 7th, 1989, my life had no value?” the man asked.
“Of course I don’t think that, and of course I’m glad that you’re here,” O’Rourke said, adding “But you referenced my answer in Ohio, and it remains the same. This is a decision that night of you nor I comment or the United States government, should be making.”
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida high school teacher was placed on administrative leave after he told students he’d “be the best school shooter” with a “1,000 person body count.” The incident took place at Lakeland Senior High School, about 45 minutes from Tampa, August 16 during a lockdown drill, according to a Polk County risk protection order.
Police interviewed 16 students about the incident. The teacher told students if he were a school shooter he’d plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs), then “fire a couple rounds and wait for everyone to hide, then press a button and boom — everyone would die,” according to student testimony.
