PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV/CNN) – A tow yard employee is injured after two people tried to take a truck in the middle of the night.
Police in Portland, Oregon, are looking for the 2016 Ford F-150 involved.
It probably has front-end damage from where the driver hit the employee, Josh Durrett.
Durrett walked up to unlock the gate and the truck rammed into the fence, sending him flying back.
The parents of a man with schizophrenia who was shot and killed by police in a Carl’s Jr. bathroom have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Oregon city of Eagle Point, its police department and the police officer who killed their son.
The man was shot after officers say they thought the man had a gun. The officers would later realize the man was not armed, and what they mistook for a gun was a fallen Taser that belonged to the officer who killed him.
Eagle Point Police Officer Daniel Cardenas shot and killed Matthew Thayer Graves on Sept. 19. Cardenas, a 26-year-old officer who was two-and-a-half years into his first job, attempted to stop Graves for disobeying a crosswalk light. Graves would eventually lead Cardenas into the bathroom of a Carl’s Jr. just a few miles from where Graves lived with his parents.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are continuing their search for the man they suspect stabbed an off-duty fire lieutenant at a Portland sports bar on Saturday evening. On Monday, surveillance video from the Kingston Sports Bar and Grill was released.
In the video, an unknown man can be seen walking into the bar around 8 p.m. on Saturday. He walks over to the off-duty fire lieutenant and says something. Then there was a scuffle.
The video shows the suspect pulling out a sharp object. KOIN 6 News has decided not to publish footage of the stabbing, but shortly after, the suspect leaves the bar.
The victim then realizes he was stabbed and walks away. When police were called out to the bar, they found the victim with stab wounds to his chest and arm.
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – A woman is facing bias crime charges after she allegedly grabbed a foreign exchange student’s hijab and rubbed it on her naked body, according to court documents.
Jasmine Renee Campbell, 23, is facing two counts of second-degree bias crime, attempted strangulation, harassment, and third-degree criminal mischief.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Nov. 12, 2019, at around 7:20 p.m. at the MAX station near 949 Southwest Yamhill Street.
Campbell then forcibly took the hijab off the victim.
According to court documents, Campbell stripped down to nothing but a leather jacket and then rubbed the hijab over her naked body in various ways.
BEAVERTON, Ore. — A suspect is in custody after two people were stabbed near the Murray Hill shopping center in Beaverton on Wednesday morning, police said.
At 11:48 a.m., Beaverton police tweeted that the suspect had been apprehended and there was no longer any danger to the public.
The stabbings happened sometime before 11:30 a.m. near the shopping center located at Southwest Murray Boulevard and Teal Avenue.
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – A man who hid the body of a woman in her apartment after she died of an accidental drug overdose was convicted by a jury on charges of abuse of a corpse.
Clayton Lamont Howard, 56, was found guilty Tuesday.
The investigation began when 59-year-old Neta Mangum was reported missing by her family. Investigators said she died March 21 on the 15800 block of East Burnside.
