The “Morning Joe” co-host compared that demeanor to the Democrats on the stage in the last debate and concluded that the opposition party was not up to taking it to a “higher level.”
“The thing that last night’s rally showed — and it was a great — I think it was a great comparison with what the Democrats were doing. It showed that here was a guy that strutted across the stage,” he said. “He was — he was being a demagogue. I would say Mussolini-like. Just picking at racial resentments constantly. And then you go like the previous two nights, and you have Democrats going, ‘Well you know, I have looked at subsection three of page 487 of your Medicare for all plan, and I fear that after the third deductible, that the coverage may not be as satisfactory if you are in Medicare zone three instead of Medicare zone one. Of course, of course, you have to weigh that with a Brookings Instit…’ I could go on all night because the Democrats went on all night.”
Wow! Morning Joe & Psycho ratings have really crashed. Very small audience. People are tired of hearing Fake News delivered with an anger that is not to be believed. Sad, when the show was sane, they helped get me elected. Thanks! Was on all the time. Lost all of its juice!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 30, 2019
President Donald Trump claims he has “very little time for watching TV,” much less cable news, yet daily he tweets quotes from Fox News and “Fox & Friends.” He says he never watches MSNBC, much less “Morning Joe,” yet he tweets attacks on the network, and especially his former friends at the AM show.
Tuesday morning the President got an early start, posting his first “Executive Time” tweet at 6:38 AM. Several tweets followed and then, he struck out at the “Morning Joe” crew.

JEAN-PIERRE: “Yeah, Joe. So on January 20, 2017, Donald Trump put his hand on The Bible technically two bibles and took the oath of the presidency to be a president for all of us. And since that day, since that moment, every hour he seems to just prove that to be wrong. Right? He is not a president for black people. He’s not a president for women. He’s not a president for brown people. He’s not a president for the LGBTQQ community. He chooses to double down and triple down on bigotry and racism. And now what we are seeing in 2019, a modern day president who is choosing to use racism, division, hatred to win thinking he’s going to win 2020 with that. And so I say to folks who are watching, we cannot allow this to happen. We have to figure out who are we as a country moving forward. Who are we? Do we want this? Right? Because all of this is going to come down to November 2020. And I say to Republicans, especially Republicans’ leadership, please, speak up. Enough is enough. We are a young democracy we really are. You know? I was really struck by what Ignatius was saying, David Ignatius was saying. I don’t know where Donald Trump wants to take this. But wherever it is it’s going to be dangerous. It could lead to a horrible civil war. You know, this is — he is testing us. He’s testing the democracy. He’s shredding the Constitution.”
‘Why would you want as president elect of the United States to meet with a troublemaker and a conman?’
SHARPTON: “We need to stand up and deal with the fact that this president’s policies hurt people all over this country and despite people like Elijah Cummings have delivered for their district and could deliver if they were empowered that we need not get into the sideshow of a man that one minute calls you names and next minute stands up and smiling with you at your convention. He’ll do anything — including his own supporters — if it’s to his advantage. I’m not going to fall prey to that. I’m not going to bite that bait.”
MSNBC host Donny Deutsch on Friday said Democrats weren’t going to “play fair” to make sure President Donald Trump goes to jail.
Deutsch appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, where he discussed some of the 2020 strategies he believes Democrats should follow to defeat Trump and send him to jail.
“We may not have won the battle of impeachment, but we’re going to win the war of putting him in jail whatever we have to do and we’re not going to necessarily play fair,” Deutsch said. “For all the intellectuals out there whose hair is going to go on fire, ‘But we’re becoming like them. We’re becoming like them,’ we cannot lose the next election. We will go back 50 years.”
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY., blocked two election security measures on Thursday, a move that came after the special counsel’s House hearings and the same day the Senate Intel Committee released a report on Russian interference.
SCARBOROUGH: “What am I supposed to call him? Cocaine Mitch? You know, people call him Cocaine Mitch. Maybe — I don’t know. Maybe he’s — I mean, he’s only Cocaine Mitch if he’s running cocaine to Moscow because he’s Moscow Mitch.”
‘I think it’s why he’s going back to his greatest original trick, being racist’
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski warned that President Donald Trump’s attacks on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) were both illegal and racist — as well as an incitement to violence.
The “Morning Joe” co-hosts were appalled by the crowd’s reaction — chanting “send her back” — to Trump attacks at a Greensboro, North Carolina, rally.
