A MASS brawl broke out in the closing stages of a college basketball match in the United States on Tuesday night.
Punches were thrown and a chair was even picked up, ready to be launched, as rivals Kansas and Kansas State met in the NCAA Big 12.
Home side Kansas lead 81-59 with the game clock ticking down to zero.
With most players having stopped playing, as is custom when the result can’t be altered in the final exchange, Kansas State’s DaJuan Gordon decided to carry on.

An actress who appeared in “Captain America: The First Avenger” accused of fatally stabbing her mother in Kansas will represent herself in the criminal case, according to a report.
Mollie Maxine Fitzgerald, who briefly appeared as “Stark Girl” in the 2011 Marvel Studios hit that grossed more than $370 million worldwide, appeared by video Thursday in a Johnson County District courtroom on a second-degree murder charge, the Kansas City Star reports.

An actress in “Captain America: The First Avenger” is accused of killing her 68-year-old mother.
OLATHE, Kan. — An actress who had a small role in the movie “Captain America: The First Avenger” is accused of fatally stabbing her mother inside a suburban Kansas City home.
Mollie Fitzgerald, 38, was arrested Tuesday by police in Olathe, Kansas, the Kansas City Star reported. She is charged with second-degree murder and jailed on $500,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately clear if she had an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
She’s accused in the death of 68-year-old Patricia “Tee” Fitzgerald, who authorities say was found dead on Dec. 20 inside her Olathe home.

MANHATTAN, Kan. — The Riley County police department is warning students at KU and K-State that don’t go home for the holidays to remain cautious over the holiday break.
According to a report from KSNT, the law enforcement agency says it continues to search for an alleged serial rapist known to attack over holiday breaks near local college campuses. Police say they have connected the man to 13 incidents in Lawrence and Manhattan over the last 19 years but have yet to identify or catch the suspect.

A pilot program called “Choose Topeka” will match employer funds put up for people who move to Topeka and live and work there for a year, city and Shawnee County economic development groups announced Thursday.

A disturbing video shared on social media shows the moment a group of black teens held a white teen at gunpoint while they stole items from him.
The video, filmed near a park in Olathe, Kansas, on Halloween, shows the white young man being threatened by four black teens who point at least three guns at him while telling him to empty his pockets and hand over his cell phone.
