A death-defying escape was captured on video as a man scaled 15 stories down a West Philadelphia high-rise during a fire Thursday night.
The fire started at a trash receptacle at an apartment building on 4445 Holden Street around 9:30 p.m., sending smoke throughout the high-rise. Residents were evacuated from the building as firefighters checked the floors to get people out.
TOKYO: Several people have died in a fire at an animation studio in the Japanese city of Kyoto on Thursday (Jul 18) and authorities are investigating a possible arson attack, public broadcaster NHK reported, citing the police. The police did not say how many had died, NHK said.
The broadcaster reported earlier that the fire at the Kyoto Animation studio broke out around 10.30am.
“A man threw a liquid and set fire to it,” a Kyoto prefectural police spokesman said.
A number of major fires broke out across Israel Wednesday afternoon, forcing some evacuations and destroyed a number of homes.
