The Hallmark Channel was facing some bitter criticism on social media Sunday over its decision to pull ads for a wedding-planning website that featured two brides kissing at the altar, following a complaint from a conservative advocacy group.

The hashtag #BoycottHallmark was trending at one point on Twitter, and celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and William Shatner assailed the decision. “Put the commercials back!” Shatner wrote. DeGeneres asked, “Isn’t it almost 2020?”

More than 50,000 people forced to leave home in Italy after WW2 bomb found in Brindisi – WATCH

 

British bomb believed to have been dropped on southern Italian city in 1941 More than 50,000 people had to evacuate their homes in Brindisi in the south of Italy on Sunday, as experts removed a second world war British bomb.

The British bomb, uncovered by construction workers on 2 November during refurbishment works at a cinema, is believed to have been dropped on the port city in 1941.

The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera described the operation as “the biggest peacetime evacuation in the country” as more than 54,000 inhabitants were forced to leave their homes for several hours on Sunday morning, within a radius of 1,617 metres from where the bomb was found.

VIDEO: Philippines earthquake 6.8-magnitude rocks the Islands – MULTIPLE DEATHS – WATCH

A 6-year-old girl was among three people killed when a 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck the southern Philippines island of Mindanao on Sunday.

The girl was inside her family’s house when the building collapsed and killed her, the province’s governor, Douglas Cagas, told CNN.

Fire Service Director Chief Superintendent Samuel Tadeo confirmed the three deaths and also said a market in Padada had collapsed.

4-year-old twins climb 200 feet to the road after dad dies as car crashes down steep embankment – WATCH

Two 4-year-old girls unbuckled their car seats and climbed up a steep embankment after their father was killed in a car crash on  Whidbey Island Friday evening

The crash happened on the 5700 block of Bob Galbreath Road just before 6 p.m. The driver, identified by Washington State Patrol (WSP) as 47-year-old Corey Simmons of Langley, was traveling westbound when the vehicle left the roadway and went down an embankment.

The vehicle crashed into multiple trees before coming to a stop, according to WSP Trooper Heather Axtman. Simmons was killed in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Family members told KING 5 the two 4-year-old girls in the backseat of the vehicle were Simmons’ twin daughters. The girls were able to free themselves from their car seats and climbed about 200 feet to the road for help after the crash.
