Hong Kong democracy activist Joshua Wong has been arrested in Hong Kong on unknown charges, according to a statement by his political organisation Demosisto.

The group said Wong was “forcefully pushed into a private minivan on the street” while walking to a subway station at about 7.30am. He was then taken to police headquarters in Wan Chai.

The group did not immediately reveal any further information but said their lawyer was working on the case.
